The Marine Connection is a London based charity for the protection and conservation of dolphins and whales - good, long standing friends of IDW, they do wonderful work. The charity organises boat trips around Cornwall, Wales and Scotland offering the general public an unique opportunity to see dolphins and whales in their natural environment. Money raised from these trips supports vital research work on the marine mammals that frequent these areas and other Marine Connection projects and campaigns worldwide. Further details can be found here:

Scotland offers some of the best opportunities for dolphin watching in the UK. A pod of approximately 130 bottlenose dolphins are resident all year round in the Moray Firth.

Watching Dolphins:
An excellent location to see wild dolphins (although we would not recommend actually getting in the water with them). Harbour porpoise and Minke whales are also seen in the area. Friends of the Moray Firth Dolphins have produced a booklet Dolphin Watching along the Moray Firth.
Peter MacDonald organises Weekend Dolphin Watching and Wildlife Safaris.

A dolphin you may see in the Moray Firth is Star Dance. He is one of the dolphins you can adopt in the IDW ‘Adopt a Dolphin’ scheme.

Dolphin, whale and wildlife watching from the 36’ sailing boat Dolphinicity, sailing from Lossiemouth on the Moray Firth, Scotland. Dolphinicity has been a favourite of Horace since 1995 when Robin and Kris first began Dolphinspotter.co.uk and offered trips to IDW members. Now operated by good friend Tony Archer, trips are available from 2/2.5hrs to a full day, from as little as £25 including refreshments. Dolphincity is also the most eco-friendly boat you will find. As well as using the sails whenver possible, the engine runs on bio-diesel which is basically re-cycled cooking oil!
